Andy White
Andy is a self-represented artist from Vancouver, BC, Canada.
He attributes his visual language & style from having grown up in the ever-changing horizon of Vancouver.
As a young man, his interest in the arts grew when he attended the Artists for Kids Summer Art Camp in North Vancouver with guest artist Ross Penhall. In high school, photography became his primary medium was immersed in the digital arts during the formative years of the North Vancouver School District’s Digital Media Academy.
This ultimately led to pursuing post-secondary education at the Langara College Continuing Studies Photography Program (2009) & University of British Columbia Bachelor of Fine Arts (2014) with a focus in photography, digital art & printmaking.
Alongside his artistic practice, Andy competes in the track & field event of javelin. During his studies at UBC, he competed as a varsity athlete (Academic-All Canadian & 4x All-American).
He’s also had the honour and privilege to represent Canada Internationally, and achieved 1st place at the Canadian Track & Field Championships in 2023 & Olympic Trials in 2024.
The duality of being both artist and athlete is his source of creative energy. Andy is naturally drawn to the tension between opposing forces; their contrast, their harmony, and the space in between. It’s in these intersections that his inspiration takes form.
Currently, Andy is pursuing his MBA while underway on series “VIII” for project sixo four blue & continues training for track & field.
